Create Section Workflow

Use the Create Section Wizard to create new sections.
  1. In the Reality Model Presentation Sections tab, select the Create Section Wizard tool.
  2. Select the cross section target view.
  3. Optional - Define a field of view.
    Option Description
    Recenter While Moving Determine whether or not to recenter the view while moving.
    View Orientation The orientation of the view:
    • Cross Section - corresponds to Front viewpoint
    • Top
    • Right
    • Left
    • Isometric
    Point of View The direction from which the view is oriented.
    Vertical Angle Vertical angle if Isometric view selected.
    Horizontal Angle Horizontal angle if Isometric view selected.
    Section Level Select the Level where the Section element will be placed.
    • Cut: Only the Cut setting is turned ON.
    • Forward: Only the Forward settings is turned ON.
    • Backward: Only the Backward settings is turned ON.
    • Forward and Backward: Only the Forward, Cut and Backward settings are turned ON.
  4. Optional - Define the Clip Volume, as in step 3 above, but includes the option to clip the reality models.

    Clip Volume

    Sets clip volume options for MicroStation elements:

    • Turn off : No clip volume active.
    • Section Extent : Clip volume extends to the extent of the section
    • Scaled Section Extent:Clip volume extends to the extent of the scaled section.The scaled section is defined by the depth and width scale factors.

    Clip Volume Settings

    Control the Clip Volume Settings of Cross Section and Slave views.

    • Cut: Only the "Cut" setting is turned ON.

    Forward and Backward: Only the "Forward" and "Backward" settings are turned ON.

    Clip Point Clouds

    Toggles on or off clipping of the point clouds. If clipping is Off then an option is available to recolor the points inside the section.

    Section Level Select the Level where the Section element will be placed.
    • Cut: Only the Cut setting is turned ON.
    • Forward: Only the Forward settings is turned ON.
    • Backward: Only the Backward settings is turned ON.
    • Forward and Backward: Only the Forward, Cut and Backward settings are turned ON.
  5. Optional - Define Clip Volume.
    Option Description
    Adjust ACS Adjust the ACS to be aligned with the section plane.
    ACS Plane Snap Turns on the ACS Plane Snap.
Additional Slave views can be added as required.
